A special session on Digital Earth Technologies for Promoting Sustainable Development in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and South Pacific Island Countries (SPIC) was held at the International Science and Technology Organizations Headquarters in Beijing on September 5, 2025.

The China Exchange Program for Young International (CEP), hosted by Prof. LIU Qinhuo from the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has successfully concluded. The program brought together three early-career researchers from Ghana and Pakistan for in-depth academic and cultural exchanges, focusing on Earth observation and ecosystem monitoring under the frameworks of the Global Ecosystems and Environment Observation Analysis Research Cooperation (GEOARC) and the Asia-Oceania Group on Earth Observations (AOGEO).

The Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) hosted a seminar on July 15, 2025, highlighting the ecosystem restoration efforts in Europe, particularly in forest ecosystems and urban environments. The event was held at the National Engineering Research Center for Geomatics and featured a keynote presentation by Prof. Stefan, a visiting scholar under the CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI).

The "Chengdu Declaration on Digital Empowerment for Sustainable Development: A Decade of Action" was officially released at the 9th Digital Belt and Road Conference (DBAR 2025), which recently concluded in Chengdu. The Declaration outlines a strategic vision to harness digital technologies to support the sustainable development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), aiming to build a more inclusive and resilient future.
