Program on Intelligent Processing of Big Point Cloud Data Launched
A program on "Key technologies and software for intelligent processing of multi-platform and multi-modal point cloud data" was launched to develop key technologies and software for intelligent processing of big point cloud data.
As part of the national Key R&D Program - "Basic scientific research conditions and R&D of major scientific instruments and equipment" specific project, the program for young scientists is led by a research team from the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS). The program involves three top research teams covering the fields of point cloud mechanism, intelligent processing, forest application and software development. The program leader is Dr. NIE Sheng from the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
This program focuses on the fundamental scientific issues and key technical challenges in multi-platform and multi-modal point cloud intelligent processing and information extraction, aiming to develop a series of key technologies related to the mechanism, intelligent processing, forest application and software development of big point cloud data.
The goal of the program is to explore the LiDAR 3D radiation transmission and multi-platform point cloud mechanism, carry out the research on point cloud intelligent processing and information extraction technologies for complex forest scenes, and develop point cloud intelligent processing software, promoting the development of point cloud data intelligent processing research in China.
