Calibration Field Network Project of Land Observation Satellite - SAR Calibration System Passes Design Requirement Analysis Review

Jun 03, 2020

The Calibration Field Network Project of National Civil Space Infrastructure “13th Five-Year Plan” Land Observation Satellite - SAR Calibration System passed the design requirement analysis on a review meeting held in Beijing on May 28, 2020. The project is undertaken by the National Key Laboratory of Microwave Imaging Technology.

SAR calibration system is an important part of the national civil space infrastructure ground system, which is responsible for providing in-orbit external calibration data of four types of SAR payload systems and up to seven SAR satellites, and providing scientific evidences for SAR system delivery acceptance. It is responsible for carrying out regular external calibration tests, providing necessary calibration parameters for spaceborne SAR data products, and supporting quantitative application of data products. It is also responsible for in-orbit quality evaluation and operation status monitoring of spaceborne SAR system, and supporting in-orbit status tracking and problem analysis of satellites.
