AIRCAS International Experts and Students Participate "Kunming Lake International Friends Walking Event"
On October 25, 2025, international experts and students from the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS) joined the 25th "Kunming Lake International Friends Walking Event" at the picturesque Summer Palace in Beijing.
Organized by the Beijing Overseas Talents Center, this event has been a cherished tradition since 2001, fostering friendship, cultural exchange, and community among international professionals in Beijing. This year's walk was especially meaningful, celebrating 25 years of continuity and connectivity.
At the opening ceremony, one speaker remarked: "Walking is not hard. The hard part is that we have kept it as a tradition for 25 years." These words resonated with all participants, highlighting not just the joy of walking, but the enduring commitment to unity and friendship that has defined this event for a quarter of a century.
The AIRCAS group, carrying AIRCAS flags and stickers, joined hundreds of participants from various institutions and embassies. Under bright and refreshing weather, walkers enjoyed stunning scenery around Kunming Lake, and the atmosphere was filled with laughter and smiles throughout the 8-kilometer route.
Zahid Ur Rahman, a Ph.D. student from AIRCAS, shared his impression: "I just want to say a huge thank to AIRCAS and the organizers! The walk around Kunming Lake was fantastic. The atmosphere, the company, and the beautiful views made it a perfect event. I had a great time connecting with old and new friends. I truly hope this remains an annual tradition — and please include me again next time!"
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for AIRCAS international experts and students to connect beyond their daily research, strengthen friendships, and experience the cultural and natural beauty of Beijing together. The AIRCAS International Cooperation Office expressed appreciation to all participants and volunteers for their enthusiasm and support, looking forward to continuing and enriching this treasured tradition in the year to come.
